The Continuo JRi continues the 24+ years tradition of the Continuo brand. This very heavy, 17 kg, non-suspended base is very dense and constructed of an inner layer of mdf material, surrounded by an outer layer of fibre cement board, and covered in genuine wood veneers. This combination produces a very stiff, anti-resonant base. The low speed motor is extremely reliable and quiet, belt-driven design. The platter weight is 4.5 kg and over-sized, shaft size is 18mm compared to the usual 7 to 10mm size. Plays speeds 33 and 45 rpm. Signal to noise ratio exceeds 70 dB. The Cantus Tonearm is a linear tracking design of exceptionally low mass…….only 15 grams of moving mass. The arm runs on miniature ball races within a glass tube, an outrigger holds the lead out wires to prevent them from restricting any arm movement, and a manual undamped arm lift enables easy cueing. Due to the linear tracking design, the resulting lack of tracing distortion, along with wide dynamics and detail resolving ability make this a truly remarkable musical combination.
